Certiphi

Complete Background Check (CBC) – Base Level Cost $32.50; minimum authorization fee hold $150.00; maximum authorization fee hold $250.00

Direct Services:

  1. 7 Year Background Check – Base Level Cost $32.50; minimum authorization fee hold $150.00; maximum authorization fee hold $250.00 (The case report may include the CPIC or the International Police Clearance depending upon where the student has resided in the last 7 years.)
  1. 2 Year Background Check – Base Level Cost $32.50; minimum authorization fee hold $100.000; maximum authorization fee hold $150.00 (The case report may include the CPIC or the International Police Clearance depending upon where the student has resided in the last 7 years.)
  1. 10 Panel Drug Screen – (LabCorp *in network lab) Base Level Cost $29.00; minimum authorization fee hold $29.00; maximum authorization fee hold $29.00

*Please Note for STUDENT PAY accounts The total cost of a CBC varies per student as all services are priced per name and address searched. The total cost to a student depends on the number of searches conducted. The cost of a report for a student who has lived in multiple jurisdictions (multiple address history) and has AKAs or alias names will be higher. This is due to the number of searches needing to be conducted for the student as the criminal record searches are name-based and generated based on the student’s previous address history provided on their submitted applications.

Since we are unable to determine the total cost of the background check upfront, Certiphi does place a hold on the student’s supplied credit card upon initial submission of their application. Students will see the minimum authorization fee  hold initially. The maximum authorization fee hold is in place for if the student previously resided or resides in New York (NYOCA assesses a $96.00 per name charge; this is not a Certiphi fee). Once the student’s application is submitted and processed, Certiphi will then be able to total the final cost of the student’s background check  to release the difference. ***Note the holds specified are a not to exceed amount. That said if a background check for an applicant is much higher, Certiphi does not and will not for any reason reach out to the student to collect additional funds.***

Accreditation (A3.12a, D1.02c)

PBA will begin interviewing for the inaugural class in the Spring of 2025, and pending ARC-PA approval, the first class will matriculate on October 1, 2025.

Palm Beach Atlantic University has applied for Accreditation – Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The PA Program anticipates matriculating its first class in October 2025, pending achieving Accreditation – Provisional status at the June 2025 ARC-PA meeting. Accreditation – Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding accreditation-provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.
In the event that the Palm Beach Atlantic University’s PA Medicine Program does not achieve Accreditation-Provisional status as planned, selected students will not matriculate and will receive a full refund of deposits.
